Atlanta Braves vs. San Diego Padres

The San Diego Padres and the Atlanta Braves face off on Monday at Petco Park as they meet for game one of their series. The Braves are -135 favorites over the Padres with an over/under run total set at 7.

The Atlanta Braves got off to a hot start to the season and since then they have extended their lead in the NL East. As a team the Braves are hitting .246 with Chris Johnson hitting .323, Freddie Freeman hitting .315, and Andrelton Simmons hitting .259. The Braves opponents are hitting .236 and the Atlanta pitching staff has an ERA of 3.17 with the starters at 3.32 and the bullpen at 2.83. For game one against the Padres the Braves start Julio Teheran who has won three of his last five decisions. For the season Teheran has allowed 71 hits and 26 earned runs while striking out 55 over 71 innings for a 4-2 record and a 3.30 ERA.
San Diego is 6-2 against the NL East, 15-7 in their last 22 home games, and 6-2 in Marquis last eight starts as a home underdog. Atlanta is 16-5 in their last 21 games as a favorite, 7-2 in their last nine games overall, and 8-3 in Teheran’s last 11 starts.
I like a good home dog and I see us getting one here and I am going to go with the Padres in this one.
