Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titans

The Buffalo Bills and the Tennessee Titans both look to build off of wins last week as they face off in Orchard Park in Sunday NFL Football action.  The Bills are -3 point favorites over the Titans with an over/under point total set at 45.

The Buffalo Bills haven’t done anything exceptional this year but they are 3-3 as they enter week seven and still in the thick of the AFC East standings. Ryan Fitzpatrick has completed 57.9 percent of his passes with 12 touchdowns and eight interceptions while being sacked seven times. Fred Jackson is back on the field and he is averaging just 2.9 yards per carry and he has nine catches while C.J. Spiller is averaging 7.6 yards per carry with four touchdowns and he has 13 catches and another touchdown. Steve Johnson has 27 catches and three touchdowns, Scott Chandler has 17 catches and four touchdowns, and Donald Jones has 16 catches and two touchdowns. Defensively Buffalo has been one of the worst teams in the NFL allowing 32 points per game, 173.5 rushing yards, and 256.3 passing yards with six interceptions and 15 sacks. Nick Barnett has 48 tackles, Kyle Williams and Mario Williams have 3.5 tackles each, and Jairus Byrd has three interceptions. Buffalo has a lot better talent on the defensive side of the ball than their overall numbers would indicate.

The Tennessee Titans are coming off of their biggest win of the year and have an extra few days rest as they knocked off the Steelers last Thursday in Nashville. Matt Hasselbeck is in at QB and he has completed 60.2 percent of his passes with four touchdowns and four interceptions while being sacked eight times. Chris Johnson looks like he may be getting back into form but he is averaging just 3.3 yards per carry and he has 16 catches out of the backfield. Rookie Kendall Wright has been effective catching 33 passes with two touchdowns, Jared Cook has 23 catches and two touchdowns, and Nate Washington has 17 catches and two touchdowns but look for Kenny Britt’s productivity to increase. The Titans’ defense allows 34 points per game, 129.5 rushing yards, and 292.3 passing yards with four interceptions and 12 sacks. Akeem Ayers has 56 tackles, Jordan Babineux has 40 tackles, and Michael Griffin has 39 tackles to lead the Tennessee defense. Will all of the injuries it’s difficult to tell exactly what the Titans are made of this season.

Buffalo is 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 home games against a team with a losing road record, 1-4-1 against the spread following a win, and 1-7-1 against the spread following a game which they covered the spread. Tennessee is 2-7-1 against the spread in their last 10 games overall, 0-3-1 against the spread following a win, and 0-4-1 against the spread in their last five road games. The underdog has covered in four of the last five meetings of these two.

Buffalo is getting healthy while the Titans aren’t all the way there and look for the Bills to get the win and the cover in this spot at home.
