Arizona Cardinals vs. Miami Dolphins

The Arizona Cardinals and the Miami Dolphins face off on Sunday afternoon in Phoenix in NFL action.  The Cardinals are -6.5 point favorites over the Dolphins with an over/under point total set at 41.

The Arizona Cardinals are one of three undefeated teams in the NFL and after the best second half of any team last year they have picked up right where they left off . Kevin Kolb took over as QB latein week one when John Skelton was injured and he has completed 64.4 percent of his passes with four touchdowns and no interceptions while being sacked four times. Ryan Williams is starting to get the hang of it in the backfield averaging 3,4 yards per carry and he has five catches and Beanie Wells is averaging 2.6 yards per carry. Larry Fitzgerald has 14 catches and a touchdown, Andre Roberts has nine catches, and Todd Heap has eight catches. Defensively Arizona allows 13.3 points, 110.3 rushing yards, and 206 passing yards per game and they have two interceptions and seven sacks. Daryl Washington has 29 tackles and three sacks, Paris Lenon has 20 tackles and two sacks, and William Gay has 18 tackles. It’s hard to believe the Cardinals will be flying under the radar much longer.

The Miami Dolphins enter week four at 1-2 but they have played decently on the field though they let a winnable game get away from last week missing a makeable field goal in overtime. Rookie QB Ryan Tannehill has completed 52.9 percent of his passes with just one touchdown and four interceptions while being sacked four times. Reggie Bush left last Sunday’s game with an injury but he has checked out OK and he is averaging 6.0 yards per carry with two touchdowns and he has 10 catches, Lamar Miller is averaging 5.9 yards per carry, and Daniel Thomas is averaging 3.6 yards per carry but had a bad fumble last game. Brian Hartline and Davone Bess have 13 catches each and Anthony Fasano has 10 catches. The Dolphins are allowing 22 points per game, 64.7 rushing yards, and 309 passing yards with three interceptions and three sacks. Karlos Dansby has 25 tackles, Koa Misi has 22 tackles, and Randy Starks has two sacks. The Dolphins look to be a better team than they were a year ago but they still have a long way to go.

Arizona is 6-1 against the spread in their last seven home games, 4-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record, and 7-3 against the spread following a win. Miami is 6-1 against the spread following a loss, 7-0 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 games overall.

This one figures to be close and low scoring as the Cardinals are the better team but these teams are very similar and with the line over five taking the points is the best option.
