Torrey Smith misses practice again, fantasy status in doubt
Torrey Smith has yet to practice this week. We break down the fantasy implications.
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith was held out of practice Thursday. It’s the second day in a row he’s been unable to practice and Smith is unlikely to suit up for Sunday’s Week 15 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Smith is dealing with a sprained knee. He was set to play in Week 14, but his knee swelled up in pregame warmups and he was mostly held on the sidelines. Smith ended up playing just 15 snaps in the Ravens’ 28-13 win over the Miami Dolphins and did not see any targets. He has 38 catches for 609 yards and eight touchdowns on the season.
Fantasy impact: It’s a disappointing setback for Smith, who was finally starting to catch fire after an agonizingly slow start to the season. If he can’t go, Kamar Aiken is expected to take the starting position opposite Steve Smith. Aiken had a good showing last week with six catches for 65 yards and a touchdown, but he’s too much of an unknown quantity to trust in the fantasy playoffs. Aiken is only a speculative WR4 play in deeper leagues against an underrated Jaguars defense.
