T.Y. Hilton injury update: Colts’ WR expected to play, fantasy value remains murky

T.Y. Hilton is expected to play after practicing this week, but it’s possible the Colts could rest their starters. We break down the fantasy implications.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton returned to practice at a limited capacity and is listed as questionable for his team’s matchup with the Tennessee Titans.

Hilton sat out his team’s blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16 due to a hamstring injury, although the speedy wideout got in three days of practice in preparation for the regular season finale. There is every indication that Hilton will be able to take the field once again as the Colts wrap up their season.

Fantasy Spin: Things are tricky this week, however, as the Colts have already wrapped up the AFC South and are locked into the No. 4 seed in the AFC, barring a tie between the Steelers and Bengals. There’s every reason to question how much the Colts will play their starters, and with Hilton at less than 100 percent, it’s a sticky situation for fantasy owners.

Head coach Chuck Pagano has stated he wants his starters to play in order to regain confidence, but it remains to be seen if he would prioritize confidence over health going into the playoffs. Fantasy owners would be wise to stick with their contingency plans they found for Hilton in Week 16 for the season finale.
