Sammy Watkins limited in practice, fantasy value continues to fall
Sammy Watkins is still being bothered by a hip injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins was officially limited in Thursday’s practice. Watkins is limited by a hip injury he suffered last Sunday, but he’s expected to be ready for the Week 14 game against the Denver Broncos.
Watkins has been dealing with multiple nicks and minor injuries in his rookie year, though he has yet to miss a game. Watkins has struggled after a hot October — he hasn’t reached 100 yards or scored a touchdown since Week 8. He has a 51/695/5 stat line on the season.
Fantasy impact: Watkins is still the No. 1 receiver in Buffalo, but his declining play has coincided with the regression of Kyle Orton. The Bills will likely continue leaning on the running game with a rotation of Fred Jackson and Bryce Brown. Watkins is a strong dynasty hold, but he can’t really be trusted for the fantasy playoffs if the passing offense keeps sputtering. Watkins is a WR3 at best against the Broncos.
