Ryan Lindley will start for Cardinals, has no fantasy value
The Cardinals are turning to Ryan Lindley in Week 16 after Drew Stanton went down with a knee injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
The Arizona Cardinals have confirmed that quarterback Ryan Lindley will get the start in Week 16 against the Seattle Seahawks. Lindley is replacing Drew Stanton, who is week-to-week with a knee injury.
Stanton suffered a sprained ACL and MCL in last Thursday’s win over the St. Louis Rams. He’s expected to miss several weeks but is hoping to be back in time for the playoffs. The Cardinals went with Lindley over rookie Logan Thomas due to his experience. He played six games in 2012, completing 52 percent of his passes for 752 yards, no touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Fantasy impact: The last time Lindley faced the Seahawks, he completed 8 of 17 passes for 59 yards in a 58-0 loss. The scoreboard might not be as lopsided this time around, but Lindley has yet to show that he’s a starting-caliber quarterback in the NFL. Look for the Cardinals to lean heavy on running backs Kerwynn Williams, Stepfan Taylor and Marion Grice. Fantasy owners should stay far away from Larry Fitzgerald or Michael Floyd for the championship rounds.
