Rashad Jennings misses practice Wednesday, unlikely to play for fantasy owners
The Giants running back re-aggravated a previous injury last week and did not practice Wednesday. We break down the fantasy implications.
New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings (ankle) did not participate in practice on Wednesday, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano. Jennings played one offensive snap against Washington last week before re-aggravating the injury.
Fantasy Impact: Jennings was a favorite fantasy draft pick of many owners coming into the season, given that his time with the New York Giants would see him be a clear workhorse running back for the first time in his career.
Add that to the fact that the Giants weren’t going to be running a committee system for the first time in a few years and 2014 was supposed to be Jennings’ banner season.
He had shown flashes of fantastic production in individual games this year, but was unable to string together multiple solid efforts. Combine that with four full games missed due to injury and the majority of two other games, and things didn’t exactly work out the way fantasy owners stop thought when they drafted Jennings
It remains to be seen whether Jennings will be able to play in Week 16, but with the Giants out of the playoff race, no one should be surprised if Andre Williams draws the start against the St. Louis Rams.
