NFL scores and results: Playoff spots on the line in Week 17

Teams like the Chargers, Panthers and Falcons are trying to bag wild card spots, while the rest of the playoff field is fighting over seeding.

Entering the final Sunday of the NFL regular season, there’s still plenty to decided. Six teams are competing for the final two playoff spots and those that are already in are still jockeying for seeding.

The early games will determine the final AFC wild card. If the Chargers beat the Chiefs, it’s theirs. If they lose, the door is open for the Ravens, Texans and Chiefs, in that order. All of those teams play in a 1 p.m. ET slot, so the race will be over either way by the time the time the second wave of games kick off.

You’ll also want to keep an eye on the Cowboys — if they beat Washington, they still have a shot at grabbing a first-round bye.

The late afternoon games are where it really gets interesting. The Panthers and Falcons are playing a win-or-go-home showdown to determine the NFC South and the last open playoff spot on that side of the bracket. The NFC North is also on the line — the Lions and Packers have both clinched a spot in the playoffs but are battling for the conference’s No. 2 seed. Seattle can clinch the NFC West with a win over St. Louis and will lock down the No. 1 seed as long as Detroit-Green Bay doesn’t end in a tie.

In the nightcap, the Bengals head to Pittsburgh to decide the AFC North.
