NFL scores and results: Johnny Manziel makes his 1st start

All eyes will be on Johnny Football’s debut, but there’s plenty of other action on Sunday.

Cincinnati vs. Cleveland will go a long way in determining the ultra-competitive AFC North, but let’s be honest, you’re not watching for the playoff implications. You’re tuning in for Johnny.

Johnny Manziel makes his long-awaited first NFL start on Sunday, a pivotal game for a reeling Browns team that sits a game and a half behind the Bengals for the division lead. Mike Pettine and his staff toyed with the idea of starting Manziel last week after a successful relief outing against the Bills, but ultimately went back to Brian Hoyer. But after another dismal performance from the vet, it’s finally Johnny time.

Believe it or not, though, there’s more to Sunday than just Johnny Football. The biggest matchup comes on Sunday Night Football, when the 9-4 Dallas Cowboys look for revenge against the 9-4 Eagles to determine who takes the lead in the NFC East. The Eagles pounded the Cowboys on Thanksgiving day in Dallas and could take a commanding lead in the division with a win at home.

Elsewhere, the Packers continue their march toward a first-round bye as they head to Buffalo, the Broncos and Chargers square off in an AFC West showdown and the Chiefs look to break their three-game losing streak and revenge their Week 12 loss to Oakland. And 49ers-Seahawks may not have the postseason intrigue we once expected, but it’s still 49ers-Seahawks.
