NBA schedule and results: Bulls face Wizards in East showdown
The two teams square off in a rematch of last year’s playoff series. Elsewhere, the Kevin Durant-less Thunder battle Portland.
Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao left the game on Tuesday after suffering a left foot/ankle injury during the third quarter against Minnesota. Varejao was unable to put any weight on his leg and had to be carried off the court, according to Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Varejao’s injury came not long after Kevin Love left the game due to a right hand injury. Love went to the locker room, but returned shortly after. According to Haynes, Varejao is out for the rest of the game on Tuesday and will be reevaluated on Wednesday. The 32-year-old has a lengthy history of injuries, but has been healthy throughout this season.
With Varejao currently out of the lineup, at least temporarily, the Cavs interior depth will be tested. Varejao, Love and Tristan Thompson play the majority of minutes inside for Cleveland. Love appears to also be less than 100 percent with his hand taped up. Lou Amundson and Brendan Haywood are among the backup bigs on the roster, although neither has played much this season.
