NBA Christmas 2014, Clippers vs. Warriors: Time, TV schedule and live stream

The NBA finishes off Christmas Day in style with a West Coast matchup between title contenders.

This year’s NBA Christmas Day slate concludes with a bang as the Los Angeles Clippers host the Golden State Warriors for a late-night holiday bout between two Western Conference contenders.

Currently first and second in the Pacific Division, respectively, the Warriors and Clippers have been firmly established as elite teams this season. Golden State has the conference’s best record (23-4) and point differential (plus-9.5), while L.A. is sixth (19-10) and fourth (plus-5.5) in those same categories roughly a third into the season.

The Warriors have been piling up the wins, but some cracks in the facade showed during a shocking 115-105 loss to the Lakers at STAPLES Center on Tuesday. With Kobe Bryant out of the lineup, the Lakers showed a different brand of energy and surprised the first-place Dubs with a strong, balanced effort.

Golden State’s second loss in four games, following a defeat in Memphis a week ago, surely was a wake-up call for a team that’s pounded its opponents throughout the season. Luckily, the Warriors get a chance for revenge before they leave Los Angeles, albeit with a totally different franchise.

The Clippers haven’t quite found their dominant footing this season. They’ve lost four of their past seven thanks primarily to a lack of depth. Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Jamal Crawford, J.J. Redick and DeAndre Jordan still constitute an impressive inside-outside combination, but the team is suffering behind those guys.

Starting small forward Matt Barnes has improved his shooting percentage, but taken a step back in practically every other aspect of his game. Spencer Hawes, Jordan Farmar and Glen Davis haven’t been much better, and second-year pro Reggie Bullock doesn’t play much.

Still, there aren’t many teams that can match up with the Clippers’ best lineups — something that can also be said for Golden State. That means we could see a lot of adjustments on the fly Thursday, particularly as the Warriors continue working David Lee back into their rotation.
