Michigan basketball fans having ‘Khaki Out’ to welcome Jim Harbaugh

The school’s basketball student cheering section has a special surprise for their new football coach.

Michigan is expected to announce Jim Harbaugh as its new football head coach during the school’s basketball game against Illinois on Tuesday, leaving the former San Francisco 49ers coach to take over at his alma mater. It’s a major hire for the program, and the fans are ready.

In honor of the man himself: Jim Harbaugh, Maize Rage will be hosting a “Khaki out” for the game on Tuesday. Wear your khakis and GO BLUE!

Bonus points for any Michigan fan wearing blue khakis, although a basketball game isn’t the best event to try and spot fan pants — especially when Wolverine fans haven’t had much to stand for recently. There should be a packed house, however. Rumors of the impending announcement have caused basketball ticket prices to soar, with costs at least quadrupling over the past few days.

Harbaugh’s affinity for khakis is well known. We reviewed them back in January, and found they sure are khakis.
