Michael Crabtree returns to practice, remains a middling fantasy option
Michael Crabtree is back at practice and should be fine for Week 16. We break down the fantasy implications.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree was back at practice on Thursday, in a limited capacity. Crabtree is listed with a knee injury and sat out of practice on Wednesday, but he’s not expected to miss the game on Saturday against the San Diego Chargers.
Crabtreee hasn’t missed a game this season, but he has struggled in the 49ers’ stagnating offense. Through 14 games, Crabtree has 63 catches for just 652 yards and four touchdowns. He has struggled with drops and his chemistry with Colin Kaepernick seems to have vanished.
Fantasy impact: Crabtree really hasn’t been the same since tearing his Achilles in 2013. He lacks the explosive playmaking ability that made him a fantasy star in 2012, and he seems to have settled into more of a possession receiver role. Crabtree hasn’t had a single 100-yard game this year and hasn’t found the end zone since Week 11. He’s just a WR4 for the fantasy playoffs with the entire 49ers offense going into the tank.
