Marquess Wilson will start in place of Brandon Marshall, has fantasy value
Marquess Wilson will start in place of Brandon Marshall for the Chicago Bears. We break down the fantasy implications.
The Chicago Bears are going to start wide receiver Marquess Wilson in place of Brandon Marshall going forward, according to Michael Wright of ESPN. Marshall suffered two fractured ribs and a lung injury in Thursday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, and he will not be returning this season, especially given that the Bears are not in the playoff race at this point.
Marshall was having a down season, but he was still effective. He’d caught 61 passes for 721 yards and eight touchdowns on the season. Wilson has been used sparingly thus far, with just 14 passes thrown his way this season. He caught five of them for 40 yards with no touchdowns.
Fantasy Impact: That said, Wilson has a ton of potential and is now in a starting role in a pass-happy offense. He was considered a steal in the seventh round of the draft and he might just be worth a start for Marshall owners looking for someone to fill the gap. He’s definitely a boom or bust candidate this week.
