Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero out 4-6 weeks
We finally got a straight answer from Manchester City about the status of Kun Aguero, and the news isn’t good.
Sergio Aguero has been surrounded by questions since going down with a knee injury against Everton this weekend. Manchester City has been coy in their efforts to avoid giving straight answers on the Argentine’s status until now, only admitting that he’ll be out against Roma tomorrow. Finally, though, Manuel Pellegrini has given us a real update on his striker’s status:
PELLEGRINI ON AGUERO [UPDATED]: “He will be out for 4 to 6 weeks. His recovery will depend. But our team does not depend on one player”

That means Aguero will be out in to January, likely until late in the month. It’s a big blow to City, no matter how much Pellegrini tries to play down the impact; Aguero is arguably the best player in the Premier League right now, and even with how ridiculously talented Manchester City’s roster is, losing a talent of his caliber is a game-changer.
With City having pulled to within three points of Chelsea atop the table, they’ll need to be more focused than ever to try to close that gap after losing Aguero. The busy holiday period will be a particular test of City’s attacking depth, but if they can get through that and either lessen or wipe out that deficit, getting Aguero back at the end of January could be a huge boost to City’s title hopes.
