Le’Veon Bell goes to locker room with apparent knee injury vs. Bengals

Le’Veon Bell had to leave Sunday night’s pivotal bout against the Bengals with an apparent knee injury.

Le’Veon Bell trotted off the field after suffering an apparent knee injury Sunday night against the Cincinnati Bengals. His return to the game has been announced as doubtful.

Bell was able to trot off the field under his own power initially, but he went to the Steelers‘ locker room after being examined by trainers on the sideline.

The Pittsburgh Steelers running back has struggled to stay healthy during his first two seasons in the NFL. He missed what should have been the first three games of his 2013 rookie season with a Lisfranc injury.

After getting back up to full strength, however, Bell has been an incredibly productive player in the Steelers’ offense. This season, he has gone over 100 yard rushing four times, including a 204-yard performance against the Tennessee Titans in mid-November.

With Bell likely out for the rest of the game, the Steelers will rely on backups Dri Archer and Josh Harris, both rookies, to handle the rushing load.

Bell suffered the injury after taking a hit to his knee in the third quarter.
