Kyle Busch undergoes left foot surgery
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver is expected to be healthy in time for the 2015 season.
Kyle Busch underwent successful surgery on his left foot Thursday, Joe Gibbs Racing said in a team statement.
The operation was to relieve a recurring source of inflammation and performed at a Charlotte hospital. Busch is expected to make a full recovery in time for the start of the 2015 NASCAR season. The season-opening Sprint Cup Series race is Feb. 22 at Daytona International Speedway.

Entering his 11th season, Busch recorded one victory and finished 10th in the final point standings. The 29-year-old was eliminated in the second round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup, after wrecking in the October race at Talladega Superspeedway.
When Busch does return to the seat of the No. 18 Toyota, he will be paired with new crew chief Adam Stevens as part of an organizational restructuring JGR announced last week. The two have worked together previously in the Nationwide Series, winning 19 times in the past two seasons.
Busch’s former crew chief, Dave Rogers, is now leading Denny Hamlin’s No. 11 team.
