Kobe Bryant is out for the Lakers vs. the Bulls
The Lakers might actually have a chance now.
NBA fans won’t be getting Kobe Bryant for Christmas. The 36-year-old Lakers star will sit out against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday with what the team has deemed “overall soreness”.
The 36-year-old Bryant is putting up massive per-game numbers for the Lakers this season, but he hasn’t been efficient in doing so. While Bryant ranks third in the NBA in points per game (24.6), he’s only shooting 37.2 percent from the floor and is leading the league with 22.4 shot attempts per game. Bryant also missed the Lakers’ win over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.
The Lakers enter the game in Chicago tied for the second worst record in the West at 9-19. With Bryant out of the lineup, America could be in for the Nick Young show. The Lakers have been much better since Young returned from injury, going 8-10 in games with the eccentric shooting guard.
Chicago has won seven of its last eight games. The Bulls are riding a four-game winning streak that includes victories over the Grizzlies, Raptors and Wizards.
