Keenan Allen undergoing MRI Monday; fantasy status unclear

San Diego Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen is undergoing an MRI on Monday. We break down the fantasy implications.

San Diego Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen left Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos in a walking boot, according to U-T San Diego. Allen left the game in the third quarter, and tried to return a couple times before eventually being ruled out and taken to the locker room on a cart. Allen is undergoing an MRI on Monday.

Allen is having a solid season thus far. He’s caught 77 passes for 783 yards and four touchdowns, though he hasn’t managed to do much over the past couple games. He caught just three passes for 18 yards before leaving the Denver game, and the week before he had two catches for 3 yards against the New England Patriots. The Chargers lost both of those games.

Fantasy Impact: Allen may be struggling of late, but prior to the two recent losses, he caught 11 passes for 121 yards against the Baltimore Ravens and six passes for 104 yards against the St. Louis Rams. There’s plenty of room for him to do well, though this new injury is a concern. Fantasy owners will need to await the results of the MRI.
