Keenan Allen injury update: Chargers’ WR is officially inactive for fantasy owners

Keenan Allen won’t be playing for the final regular-season game. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

The Chargers will be heading into a must-win game without Keenan Allen. Allen was officially ruled inactive after being listed as doubtful all week. Allen is still dealing with a collarbone injury.

Allen’s sophomore season was largely a disappointment compared to his stellar rookie campaign. He did show signs of life throughout the last half of the regular season. He’ll end 2014 with 77 receptions for 783 yards and four touchdowns.

With Allen out of Sunday’s game, Malcom Floyd and Eddie Royal will likely see a boost in targets.

Fantasy impact: Fantasy owners that advanced to Week 17 likely did so despite owning Allen. While he had a solid stretch of production in November, he’s been a disappointment overall. Floyd and Royal owners may want to consider starting either one. The Chargers are one of the teams remaining that are actually fighting for a playoff spot. They’ll need Floyd and Royal to step up if they want a shot.
