Julius Thomas injury update: Broncos TE questionable, should play against Bills for fantasy owners
Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas is listed as questionable for the team’s Week 14 game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas is officially listed as questionable for the team’s Week 14 game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Thomas has an ankle injury and has missed Denver’s past two games — both wins. Thomas was at practice throughout the week, though he was listed as limited at points. That said, most expect he’ll be able to play on Sunday.
The questionable designation is supposed to denote a 50 percent chance of missing the game. Thomas seems like he’s nearly guaranteed to play, but the workload he’ll get against the Bills is the big question mark. Denver is heavily favored to win and they probably don’t need to push Thomas too hard. That said, he’s been a valuable asset in the red zone with 12 touchdowns in 10 games this season.
Fantasy Impact: Thomas has just 40 receptions for 426 yards, down from a season ago, but his touchdown total is stellar and it’s what makes him such a strong fantasy option. You don’t keep Peyton Manning’s favorite red zone target on the sideline if he’s going to play. The Broncos and Bills play in the afternoon, though, so hopefully there’s news early on Sunday.
