Julio Jones sits out practice Wednesday, shaping up to be a game day call for fantasy owners
The Falcons’ star receiver is a game-day decision for Week 16. We break down the fantasy implications.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones (hip) didn’t practice on Wednesday and a decision on his playing status for the team’s Week 16 game against the New Orleans Saints is expected to come on Sunday morning, according to ESPN’s Vaughn McClure.
Fantasy Impact: Jones’ injury troubles couldn’t have come at a worse time for the Falcons, a team still competing for a division title despite a sub-500 record.
Jones did not play last week against the Steelers because of the injury, but in the two games before that posted a combined total of 21 catches for 438 receiving yards and two touchdowns. In standard fantasy formats and especially PPR leagues, those totals can almost single-handedly decide a head-to-head matchup.
Jones isn’t expected to practice at all this week, but if there is any good news, it’s that it sounds like fantasy owners will have some time to make adjustments should Jones end up missing the game.
