Julio Jones injury update: Falcons’ WR will play Sunday, fantasy owners must start
Julio Jones will suit up Sunday for Atlanta’s crucial NFC South showdown. We take a look at the fantasy implications.
Julio Jones may not be 100 percent, but he’s really close. He’ll be taking the field as the Atlanta Falcons enter a winner-take-all showdown with the Carolina Panthers. Jones’ injury wasn’t enough to keep him off the field against the New Orleans Saints in Week 16, but there was some concern when he missed most of the team’s practices last week.
Falcons WR Julio Jones will play today and RB Steven Jackson won’t, I’m told. Both were listed as questionable.

Jones’ presence is huge for the Falcons, who will likely be leaning on the stud wide receiver as they look to fulfill their playoff hopes.
Fantasy impact: Fantasy owners should be pleased with the news. It’s even more promising for Jones owners that he won’t even need to test his oblique during pregame warm ups. If Jones has gotten you to Week 17 in your fantasy leagues, this is not the time to avoid him. He posted seven receptions for 107 yards last week when his injury was presumably worse than it is now. Jones is back to WR1 value for the final game of the season.
