Julian Edelman practicing, but concussion makes fantasy status unclear
Julian Edelman is in the concussion protocol, although he did get a limited practice Wednesday. We break down the fantasy implications.
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was limited in practice Wednesday. Edelman is in the league’s concussion protocol, but he was still able to get in a practice session. He has a good chance of getting cleared in time for Sunday’s Week 16 game against the New York Jets.
It’s unknown when Edelman suffered his concussion — he played on 57 of 65 offensive snaps in last week’s win over the Miami Dolphins, finishing with seven catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. Edelman has enjoyed another year as Tom Brady’s top target, putting up a 92-972-4 stat line on the season.
Fantasy impact: We will monitor Edelman’s status throughout the week, but it doesn’t sound like his Week 16 status is in doubt. A PPR machine for the second year in a row, Edelman will be a strong WR3 play if he’s able to suit up against the Jets secondary. He had 44 yards on four catches when the teams last played in Week 7.
