Jamaal Charles misses practice Wednesday, should be fine for fantasy owners in Week 15

Jamaal Charles missed practice on Wednesday with ankle and knee injuries. We break down the fantasy implications.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is not practicing with the team on Wednesday, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN. Charles is dealing with ankle and knee injuries, but head coach Andy Reid has suggested that the injuries are not serious and that the running back should be available in Week 15.

Charles has a lengthy injury history, failing to play16 games in a season on three separate occasions. He’s already missed one game this year, though it was early on in and that injury is not a factor at this point. It sounds like he’s dealing with soreness more than anything, which is why he’d be getting a rest day on Wednesday. It will be more telling if he misses sessions on Thursday and Friday.

Fantasy Impact: Charles carried the ball 10 times for 91 yards and a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 14, and he caught two passes for 20 yards and another score. He’s recorded 898 yards on the ground, 234 yards through the air and 14 total touchdowns. Charles is a strong fantasy weapon and should be considered a must-start against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, barring any setbacks later in the week.
