Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 17: Teddy Bridgewater has decent day

The Vikings quarterback is far from flawless, but he’s shown well as a rookie. We break down the fantasy implications.

For the fourth time in five games, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater threw for multiple touchdowns on Sunday. In the same five-game span, he has thrown five interceptions, however, keeping his overall value low. Still, Bridgewater has become relevant, and he continued to be relevant in the Vikings’ 37-35 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Bridgewater completed 19 of 26 pass attempts Sunday, going for 259 yards. He had two touchdowns and a pick in the game, and also ran for 13 yards. That was good for 17 fantasy points, smack dab in the middle of Bridgewater’s production the last five weeks.

Fantasy impact: For 2014, Bridgewater remains what he has been of late — a mid-to-low QB2 without a lot of upside, but with a high enough floor that you can run him out there if you’re stuck.

The more interesting situation for Bridgewater is 2015 and beyond. He’s shown enough in his rookie season that the quarterback could have a nice career ahead of him. If you’re in a deeper keeper, give him a long hard look.
