Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 17: Luke Willson dominates Cardinals

The Cardinals had no answer for Willson on Sunday night. We break down the fantasy implications.

Luke Willson caught three passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16. It was a career-high yardage total for the second-year tight end and the first game he’s finished with two scores.

Willson did his damage against Larry Foote, who was no match for the speedy tight end. Foote was burned twice for huge plays, including an 80-yard touchdown in the second quarter as Willson got behind the defense.

Fantasy impact: While it was an impressive performance from Willson, he didn’t record a single catch last week and finished with 1 yard receiving in Week 14. He’s now sitting on 20 receptions for the season.

Next week the Seattle Seahawks take on the St. Louis Rams, the team allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to tight ends per game. Willson wasn’t involved in Seattle’s first game against St. Louis, and it’s hard to take any kind of chance on him for Week 17. He’s just too inconsistent.
