Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 17: Latavius Murray leads Oakland backfield once again
Latavius Murray led the Raiders backfield yet again. We take a look at his fantasy value for the last week of the season.
The Latavius Murray show continued in Week 16 as the Oakland Raiders came away with a 26-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Murray led the Raiders with 23 carries. He finished with 86 yards on the ground, adding three catches for 22 yards to his day. Darren McFadden was the only other Oakland running back to see some work, getting nine carries for 54 yards.
While he wasn’t exactly lighting it up, Murray has been the most reliable option on the ground for the Raiders since breaking out in Week 12. He’ll have to contribute more in the passing game if he wants to make an impact against the Denver Broncos in Week 17.
Fantasy impact: Murray hasn’t found the end zone since Week 12, which has held his fantasy value in check over the past month. However, he’s getting a noticeable workload and doesn’t have much threatening it.
He’ll be a low-end RB2 for fantasy owners who have scraped by with him in their lineups. Even though Denver will likely demand more of a passing game in Week 17, Murray has some value as he’s guaranteed a healthy dose of touches one way or another.
