Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 16: Kyle Rudolph puts in best performance
Rudolph posted season-highs in receptions and receiving yards in Week 16. We break down the fantasy implications.
Kyle Rudolph caught seven passes for 69 yards in Week 15 against the Detroit Lions. Both totals were season-highs for the fourth-year tight end. He finished tied for most targets from Teddy Bridgewater with seven on the day.
Rudolph’s past two starts prior to Week 15 combined for four receptions and 16 yards. After hearing Norv Turner say Rudolph won’t be 100 percent for the remainder of 2014, this uptick in production was a good sign for him getting back on track.
Fantasy impact: Over the past two weeks Rudolph saw just five targets from Bridgewater, so the increase in usage was promising for owners who are still holding out hope. Rudolph played eight games last season. We haven’t seen what he can really offer to the Minnesota Vikings offense because he hasn’t been able to stay healthy in his short career.
Unfortunately, Rudolph won’t be a strong option for Week 16 when he faces a Miami Dolphins defense that allows the fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Dynasty owners will have to hope Rudolph can put in a full season in 2015.
