Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 15: Percy Harvin, Eric Decker both show up

The New York receivers combined for more than 200 yards Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy owners who dumped New York Jets receivers Percy Harvin or Eric Decker in recent weeks would be forgiven for doing so, as the team’s offense had become so stagnant that neither guy appeared to have the chance to do much. So of course, both guys had decent games Sunday in the Jets’ 30-24 overtime loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Harvin was the big producer of the game, with 124 receiving yards and a touchdown, plus three rushing yards. Decker was no slouch, with 89 receiving yards himself. Each receiver caught six passes — nine targets for Harvin, eight for Decker. The two combined for three fantasy points in Week 13, so bouncing back with a combined 26 Sunday was nice to see.

Fantasy impact: Decker and Harvin have been Jets teammates for six games. In that time, Decker has 33 fantasy points, compared to 43 for Harvin; the latter’s advantage is entirely because of Sunday, as Decker had a two-point lead coming into that game.

Ultimately, Decker has a higher floor for fantasy owners, with at least some fantasy offering every week, but Harvin clearly has the higher ceiling. Neither is anything like a strong fantasy option, but anyone who dropped them a week ago should be looking to pick them back up.
