Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 15: Latavius Murray, Marcel Reece lead Raiders backfield

Latavius Murray and Marcel Reece saw the biggest workload for the Raiders on Sunday. We take a look at their fantasy value moving forward.

Latavius Murray may finally have cemented himself as the lead running back for the Oakland Raiders, leading the team with 23 carries for 76 yards and catching two passes for 9 yards. Murray didn’t see many big gains on the afternoon — his biggest run was 16 yards. However, he clearly has earned RB1 status on the roster. Darren McFadden saw just four carries and Maurice Jones-Drew wasn’t given a single opportunity with the ball.

Marcel Reece did plenty of damage out of the backfield as well. Reece was primarily used in the passing game, catching seven passes for 64 yards and a touchdown. He did see two carries but managed just 2 yards.

The Raiders will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15. The last time the Raiders faced the Chiefs, Murray broke out for 112 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Fantasy impact: Murray should be owned in all formats. He’ll be a low-end RB2 moving forward. Even with the Raiders being inconsistent on offense, Murray is establishing himself as a reliable factor each week. He’s talented enough to overcome the deficiencies of his supporting cast. Reece is the bigger risk — he has some PPR upside, but it’s too late in the season to rely on Reece down the stretch.
