Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 15: Donte Moncrief is back to pedestrian production

Donte Moncrief couldn’t follow up on his big Week 13 performance. We take a look at his fantasy value moving forward.

Andrew Luck saw yet another successful afternoon on Sunday, but wide receiver Donte Moncrief wasn’t a huge part of it. Moncrief caught three passes for 33 yards. Once again, T.Y. Hilton accounted for most of the team’s receptions.

It was a far cry from the production we witnessed from Moncrief in Week 13, when he caught three passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns. His Week 13 numbers alluded to Moncrief’s dependency on big scoring plays to warrant noticeable results on the box score. Sunday’s numbers pretty much confirmed it. The Indianapolis Colts face the Houston Texans in Week 15.

Fantasy impact: Whether or not Moncrief’s Week 13 performance was a fluke, Week 14 proved that he’s simply too risky to trust this late in the season. With fantasy owners entering their playoffs, Moncrief is simply too much of a liability. Many owners will rely on their proven producers at wide receiver during the fantasy postseason, but some may have hoped that Moncrief could patch holes if needed.

Moncrief is nothing more than a WR4 moving forward. He could provide a big play on any given week, but he’s far from consistent.
