Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 15: Derek Hagan, Nate Washington sub in for Titans

Tennessee turned to two fill-ins at wide receiver Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

With wide receiver Justin Hunter on injured reserve and teammate Kendall Wright inactive with a hand injury, the Tennessee Titans turned to Nate Washington and Derek Hagan as their top two wide receivers Sunday. Neither receiver could do a lot, as the Titans lost, 36-7, to the New York Giants.

Hagan caught six passes on seven targets in Sunday’s game for 62 yards. Washington was targeted only three times, catching all three and going for 56 yards. The team’s only touchdown Sunday came on an interception return.

Fantasy impact: Even tight end Delanie Walker struggled for the Titans on Sunday, catching four balls for only 27 yards. Running back Bishop Sankey ran the ball nine times for a grand total of 25 yards. Starting quarterback Zach Mettenberger was lost, likely for the season, as he took a big hit to the shoulder for the second straight week.

The point is, even the big-name Titans are barely worth anything in fantasy. So looking at guys like Hagan and Washington and thinking “Well, they have the gig,” isn’t nearly enough for them to be fantasy options. The only Titan worth even mild consideration in the team’s offense right now is Walker, and only him because the tight-end position is awful.
