Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 14: Is Marquess Wilson next in line for Chicago?

Brandon Marshall left Week 14 with what appeared to be a serious injury. If he misses time going forward, who replaces him? We break down the fantasy implications.

Brandon Marshall made an early exit on Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys after suffering what’s being called a rib injury. Marshall took a knee to the side from Barry Church and appeared to be in a great deal of pain, as Cowboys defenders instantly motioned for medical assistance.

Without Marshall in the game, Marquess Wilson saw a season-high five targets from Jay Cutler. The second-year wide receiver finished with two receptions for 19 yards. He would be the likely candidate to see the biggest increase in usage if Marshall is forced to miss time.

Fantasy impact: After going to the locker room after the hit, Marshall was later seen leaving in an ambulance heading to a local hospital. That isn’t the best sign. The injury could be an internal issue like a spleen or kidney issue. If that’s the case, his season is over.

Wilson looks to be the next man up in the Bears receiving corps. Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett (who was also banged up) and Matt Forte would see the majority of targets, but Wilson could work his way into an expanded role. He’s a better option than Josh Morgan. Owners should monitor the statuses of Marshall and Bennett to determine if Wilson is worth adding for deeper leagues. Keep in mind the Bears are going to be throwing a ton every game.
