Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 17: Tom Brady

Tom Brady and the Patriots do not have much to play for. Should fantasy owners still use him?

The New England Patriots have their fate all sewn up and will be the top team in the AFC Playoffs. The last time the Pats were in this situation was in 2010. Quarterback Tom Brady did not play the whole game and only had 16 pass attempts in a win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 17.

There are really no issues to work out on offense and they’re hitting on all cylinders, so there’s almost no reason to play Brady the entire game. They will play against the Buffalo Bills, who are adept at getting to the passer, so they won’t want to put Brady in harm’s way.

It’s also a bad matchup for him, ranking as the second-toughest matchup for fantasy quarterbacks. Although, Brady went off against them in Week 6 with four scores and 361 yards.

Fantasy impact: He’s still too risky to use because of the playoffs on the horizon.
