Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 16: Frank Gore might be okay

The 49ers have some hurt running backs these days. Should fantasy owners look to capitalize?

The San Francisco 49ers are in a bit of trouble in their backfield with a slew of injuries. Running back Frank Gore has been going through the concussion protocol, but he actually is expected to play on Saturday against the San Diego Chargers.

Rookie Carlos Hyde has a back injury and is not going to be 100 percent — he might not even play. If Gore is good to go, he might be an interesting option in fantasy leagues. Hyde usually takes a good chunk of his carries and the Chargers have given up two 100-yard days on the ground to running backs in the past three weeks.

The other bit of good news is that this game is early, so fantasy owners should have a great idea of how much he should play when it’s time to make a decision.

Fantasy impact: As long as he’s starting, Gore is worth a look as an RB2 in standard leagues.
