Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 16: Colin Kaepernick has a chance for success

Colin Kaepernick as been an easy target for naysayers. Should fantasy owners use him this week?

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is not living up to his contract this season. He’s shockingly been the No. 20 fantasy quarterback and the 49ers are out of the playoff chase. Kaepernick has four turnovers to go with one score in the past three weeks — all losses.

This week, he’ll get a decent matchup against the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers are the 15th-best matchup for fantasy quarterbacks, but they have been improving. Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had one of his worst games of the season and the Chargers haven’t allowed more than two passing scores since their Week 10 bye.

Kaepernick does get to play at home this week, but it’s actually been worse for him. He has a passer rating of just 77.2 in his home games compared to 90.6 on the road.

Fantasy impact: There is really no way you can play him this week. Kaepernick has some work to do this offseason.
