Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 16: Bishop Sankey

Bishop Sankey leads the Titans in rushing, but his carries have been dropping in recent weeks. We break down the fantasy implications.

Tennessee Titans running back Bishop Sankey leads the team in rushing this year, but that’s not saying much. The young running back has seen his carries fluctuate throughout the year, seemingly at random, and it’s still going on heading into Week 16. Sankey went from a steady 10 to 13 touches per game to getting just three carries and one reception in Week 15 against the New York Jets.

Despite not running particularly well, Shonn Greene carried the ball 16 times against his former team, putting up 50 rushing yards and a reception for 13 yards. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt suggested that Greene was given more touches because he had more motivation going up against one of his former teams.

Fantasy Impact: The Titans play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday. It’s unclear what the Titans are going to do, given that neither Greene nor Sankey have played for the Jaguars before, so they’ll have to figure out a rotation based on something other than the revenge angle. Whatever the case, the Jaguars have a terrible run defense, and Sankey could be in line for a big game. But, he’s not a smart fantasy play, especially in Week 16.
