Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 16: Allen Hurns
Allen Hurns has come around for fantasy owners. Should he be starting in deep leagues?
Jacksonville receiver Allen Hurns has suddenly picked it up in the past two weeks. In those two losses, he was targeted 19 times for a combined 11 catches, 106 yards and one score. Last week was against the Baltimore Ravens, who have been gashed by receivers all season.
This week, he’ll get another great matchup against the Tennessee Titans. On the season, they are the 11th-easiest matchup for receivers and have been trending down. Last week, they had some success against the Jets, but obviously that’s meaningless considering how they are the worst passing offense in the NFL. In Week 13 and 14, the Titans allowed four touchdowns to receivers and Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick carved them up in one of those games.
Hurns should get a ton of action on the outside and he’s a good bet for a long score. Of course, there is still a lot of risk considering quarterback Blake Bortles is a little banged up and is struggling.
Fantasy impact: If it wasn’t for the short week, Hurns might be a viable WR3. There is just too much risk to consider him as anything more than a WR40-45.
