Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 15: Ryan Tannehill

Ryan Tannehill hasn’t quite lit it up in some favorable matchups. Can he get it going for his fantasy owners on Sunday?

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill had two fantastic matchups in the last two weeks, but he didn’t really capitalize on them. The Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets were a top-five matchup for fantasy quarterbacks, but Tannehill could only muster one score in those games combined.

This week, he’s not going to get a great matchup against the New England Patriots. They just shut down San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers last week and Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford three weeks ago while Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had some success in between — he has success against everyone, though. This game is also in Foxboro and Tannehill did only have 178 passing yards against them back in Week 1. The Patriots have been getting stronger on defense and it probably has a lot to do with cornerback Darrelle Revis rounding into form.

The Dolphins are also probably going to try and run the ball in order to keep quarterback Tom Brady off the field, so the yards won’t be there.

Fantasy impact: Tannehill has done nothing to think he’ll be a QB1 this week. He should be benched after his disappointing run.
