Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 14: Ryan Fitzpatrick

Ryan Fitzpatrick went nuts in Week 13. Is there any chance he can turn in another big-time fantasy game?

What the heck happened to Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick last week? Not even Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck’s five-touchdown game could outscore Fitzpatrick last week for the top scorer in fantasy. In case you missed it, Fitz had six passing touchdowns and 358 yards against the Tennessee Titans in Week 13.

Fitzpatrick lost his job to Ryan Mallett during the Week 10 bye, and Mallett is now out for the season with a torn pectoral. Fitzpatrick was not very good in any of his games and did not clear 22 fantasy points in a a game before Week 13.

He’ll get a nice matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. The Jaguars were the whipping boy of pass defense earlier this season, but they’re starting to come around and have actually been in the top half of defense against quqarterbacks since Week 7.

Fantasy impact: There is some upside here, but he’s far from a must-play option. Fantasy owners should view him as a risky QB10-12 with a ceiling of around 250 yards and two scores.
