Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 14: Donte Moncrief

The Colts rookie receiver has been productive in limited snaps. Can he keep it going in Week 14?

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Donte Moncrief has displayed some serious play-making ability on limited snaps. Moncrief finished last week with 134 yards on three catches, two of which went for touchdowns. While this line came on only 28 snaps, it’s encouraging that he at least saw more than declined Hakeem Nicks for the second straight week.

Fantasy Impact: The rookie has three no-catch games on the books this year and another five more where he accounted for less than three catches and 17 yards. While he’s far from a proven and reliable fantasy asset, Moncrief is trending in the right direction. With two games now over 100 yards in the last five weeks, the Colts would be wise to find ways to get him the ball more.

The Colts have a mediocre match up this week in the Cleveland Browns. Their defense allows the 14th-fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. The good news for Moncrief is that T.Y. Hilton will likely draw most of the coverage against shutdown cornerback Joe Haden, which should leave him with plenty of opportunities to make plays. He’s worth the gamble as a high-upside WR4/flex play.
