Fantasy football sit/start advice, Week 16: Nate Washington

Nate Washington had his best game of the season in Week 15. We break down the fantasy implications.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Nate Washington had his best game of the season in Week 15 against the New York Jets. He didn’t find the end zone, but he caught six passes for 102 yards, and was targeted a total of 10 times. He’s played well as the primary receiver while Kendall Wright is out with an injury.

But Wright is likely returning on Thursday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Wright is second on the team with 633 yards and five touchdowns, while Washington is just behind him with 629 yards, though he only has two touchdowns. They both trail tight end Delanie Walker, who has 793 yards. Washington has put up bigger yardage on fewer receptions in comparison to Wright.

Fantasy Impact: Whatever the case, Wright coming back could get in the way of Washington’s recent success. Fantasy owners depending on either of these guys in Week 16 aren’t in great shape, but either of these two, alone, could be worth a WR3 start in some cases. At this point, that’s looking more like Wright than Washington, however.
