Fantasy football rankings, Week 15: Wide receivers for standard, PPR leagues

Some of the top fantasy receivers had a disappointing Week 14 and others are sidelined with injuries. We take a look at that and deliver our Week 15 rankings.

It was a tough week to watch our stud receivers lay eggs in the first round of the fantasy playoffs. Hopefully you had enough scoring from your other players to overcome the lack of production. The biggest of all was Demaryius Thomas, who hasn’t had a game like this with only two receptions since 2012. Emmanuel Sanders didn’t fare much better with four catches for 56 yards. The Denver Broncos have begun to rely heavily on their running game and that’s really affected their passing game. Here’s hoping that they get back to their aerial attack against the San Diego Chargers this week. Randall Cobb also failed to produce in a high-scoring game. He hasn’t scored a touchdown in four games, which comes at a real inopportune time. Cobb faces a tough Buffalo Bills defense this week.

After a long season, the injuries are really starting to pile up. Brandon Marshall has been placed on injured reserve due to broken ribs and a collapsed lung. He had a few nice games this season but had more disappointing games. The Chicago Bears need to change something to make full use of their strong group of receivers.

Percy Harvin seemed to be done for the season with his ankle injury but the jury is still out. He’s coming off his best game of the season but could possibly be out for Week 15. Torrey Smith’s knee was swelling before the game on Sunday and he ended without a catch. He’s day to day and yet he was just starting to make some noise as of late. Reggie Wayne is dealing with a multitude of injuries and is probably safe to drop for a higher upside option. Lastly, Kendall Wright missed Week 14 with his broken hand. He has a sweet matchup against the New York Jets this week, so let’s hope he plays.

With Marshall out for the season and the Bears evaluating talent, Marquess Wilson will get a long look. He’s going to be a hot waiver add this week, especially since they face the New Orleans Saints on Monday night. Jay Cutler didn’t really look his way after Marshall left, instead focusing on Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett. I think that’ll change after a week of practice and it’s hard to believe the Bears will drift away from their passing game. Another second-year player who could benefit from injuries is Kamar Aiken. He’s fighting with Marlon Brown for the No. 3 receiver role on the Baltimore Ravens’ depth chart. Baltimore faces the Jacksonville Jaguars, so Aiken could put up some points no matter what happens.
