DeMarco Murray injury update: Cowboys RB questionable; should play for fantasy owners
Murray is questionable for Sunday with a hand injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray is listed as questionable for Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts. Murray is dealing with a hand injury, but is expected to play after participating in three consecutive practice sessions. He was a limited participant in all three practices, but it would be a big surprise if he missed Sunday’s game. The questionable designation is supposed to denote a 50-percent chance of playing, but he seems good to go at this point.
The Cowboys are 10-4 on the season and in first place in the NFC East, but they’re not guaranteed a spot at this point. The Philadelphia Eagles are right behind them, while the Cowboys have the tougher matchup this week against the Colts. Having Murray would be huge. He’s carried the ball 351 times for 1,687 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season, and has 395 receiving yards.
Fantasy Impact: Murray has been running incredibly well, and even when he’s struggled with lower yards-per-carry averages, he’s had enough carries to make up for it. In Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, he had just 2.6 yards per carry, but he carried the ball 31 times for 81 yards and two touchdowns. He’ll be active on Sunday.
