C.J. Anderson misses practice but expected to be ready for fantasy owners Week 15
C.J. Anderson is getting some rest after his ankle took some punishment in Week 14. We break down the fantasy implications.
Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson was held out of practice Wednesday. Anderson is dealing with an ankle injury, although he’s not expected to miss Sunday’s Week 15 showdown with the San Diego Chargers.
Anderson gutted through the ankle injury in Week 14 against the Buffalo Bills. Despite checking out of the game multiple times, Anderson still played on 43 of 55 offensive snaps, recording three touchdowns and 58 yards on 21 carries. Anderson has emerged as the Broncos’ new lead back with Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman out indefinitely. He has 832 total yards and six touchdowns in 12 active games, averaging 5 yards per carry.
Fantasy impact: Anderson might miss another practice or be limited, but he’s fully expected to suit up this week. The Broncos have been focusing their offense around the running game with Julius Thomas and Demaryius Thomas banged up, so Anderson could see another big workload despite the bum ankle. He’s a solid RB2 play against the Chargers.
