Brandon Marshall might miss rest of season, per report
Marshall took a nasty hit on Thursday night that may very well have ended his season.
Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall was in obvious pain after being hit by a helmet in the back, staying down on the field until trainers assisted him into the locker room. Marshall did not return from that hit on Thursday Night Football during Chicago’s 41-28 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys, and may not return until 2015, per Ian Rapoport.
Marshall may have suffered fractured ribs and spleen damage on the play, something he is being evaluated for. With the Bears at 5-8, any injury that needs time to heal will likely put Marshall on the shelf with any playoff hopes now being long gone. Marshall himself seems to be in good spirits, tweeting out that he is alright. He might also have been enjoying the spotlight after this incredible catch:
Much like the rest of the Bears, Marshall put together a somewhat disappointing campaign in 2014. The lanky receiver caught 61 passes for 721 yards and eight touchdowns. If his season is indeed over, this will be the first time Marshall hasn’t had 1,000 yards in a season since his rookie year of 2006.
