Blake Bortles has a mid-foot sprain; fantasy value low
Blake Bortles has a mid-foot sprain and could be questionable for Week 16. We break down the fantasy implications.
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles will likely be questionable with a mid-foot sprain for Week 16, according to John Oehser of the team website. Bortles and the Jaguars will play the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football this week, which makes it seem unlikely that he’ll play. Bortles sustained the foot sprain on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
Bortles played that entire game, completing 21 of 37 passes for 210 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. It’s hard to imagine he actually has a sprain and would be healthy in time to play the Titans on a short week. Whatever the case, Bortles has definitely struggled this year. He’s completed 253 passes for 2,676 yards with 10 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners have probably moved on from Bortles at this point — it’s unlikely anybody reading this is playing meaningful fantasy football in Week 16 and still rolls with Bortles at the position. But we’re here to give out fantasy advice, and the advice this week is that Bortles is not worth starting, he’s not likely to play and his replacement, Chad Henne, doesn’t offer much more value, either.
