Andre Johnson practices on Wednesday, should start for fantasy owners Sunday
The Texans’ veteran returned to practice on Wednesday and looks ready to play in Week 16. We break down the fantasy implications.
Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson (concussion) returned to practice with the team on Wednesday and is expected to play in Week 16, according to Rotoworld.com. Johnson did not play against the Indianapolis Colts last week.
Fantasy Impact: With Ryan Fitzpatrick (broken leg) done for the year and Ryan Mallett clearly not the answer under center, it looks like either Case Keenum or Thad Lewis will start at quarterback for the Texans this week.
That means that there probably isn’t much fantasy value to be had by starting Johnson due to the likely inconsistent play of either passer. If Johnson’s fantasy value does have one saving grace this week it’s that the Texans are going up against the Baltimore Ravens, a team that gives up the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers in the NFL.
Fantasy owners can go ahead and use Johnson if they must. At least it’s a good sign that he’s likely going to play on Sunday.
